Program Expansion and Location Efforts
The Dynamis team was enlisted by The U.S. Department of Labor to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study with the goal of selecting a new training facility in which to expand current programs and house existing educational and residence programs. The goal of our assignment was to retain a $27,000,000 federal appropriation for the project previously secured by a congressman. An intensive study of the area was initiated to determine the site best-suited for maximizing benefit to the Department of Labor, students and residents and, during the process, prospective organizations were solicited to partner and support the new campaign. Working closely with the Department of Labor's architects and engineers, Dynamis recommended a design in which a portion of two existing and underutilized facilities could be redeveloped to fit the Job Corps' purposes with the remainder of the property being developed for other uses and programs, such as primary healthcare, job training by the community college, education through charter schools and other uses including new housing. The county and area port authority was very supportive about the opportunity and the port authority was prepared to finance collateral development.
